Our Boeing Commercial Airplanes Team is currently looking for you in Hamburg, Germany as a Payloads Engineering First Level Manager (m/f/d). Our Payloads organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and a lot that you don’t: The Interior of the airplane, along with the Lavatories, Galleys, Cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We enable our airline customers to fulfil their mission and represent their brand. In this role you will: Ensure safety and quality are embedded in all engineering activities and deliverables. Lead and develop the Payloads Engineering team, managing engineering and technical work in support of current and future commercial airplane programs. Oversee complex, cross‑functional projects, integrating suppliers, interfacing engineering teams, production needs, regulatory requirements, and airline expectations. Define and execute engineering strategies, plans, and processes, including resource planning, supplier technical management, and continuous process improvement. Build strong partnerships across global teams and stakeholders, providing technical oversight and approval of engineering solutions, products, and processes. What you bring to the table: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences). 5+ years of experience in Aerospace industry, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience: Demonstrated experience with aircraft interior (Cabin, Cargo, and Cabin System) design/modification programs as a technical workforce manager; experience working with multinational teams is preferred. Knowledge: Good knowledge of Boeing products, commercial aircraft certification processes and regulations. Problem Solving: Ability to develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity; can refer to policies, procedures, and practices for guidance. Tools: Expertise with Microsoft suite of products. Personality: Principled, reliable professional who values integrity, safety and accountability; inclusive, collaborative, transparent communicator. Flexibility: Comfortable with a variable work statement; willing to support meetings across different time zones.
