Sr Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist

Job Scope Highly motivated Sr Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist will focus on cultivating and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with our carrier partners. This individual should maintain and update a dedicated volume carrier database and assist in finding alternative carriers if existing ones cannot meet performance obligations. To be a successful Sr Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist, you should collaborate with multiple internal departments, possess extensive knowledge of the sourcing process, advocate for carriers and internal team members, and develop innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies. Key Responsibilities Serve as an advocate for our network of carriers. Form and maintain long lasting relationships with new and existing carriers. Leverage relationships across Ready Logistics internal and external partners to provide support and grow partnerships with existing contracted carriers. Remediate issues and address all escalations promptly and effectively. Maintain a database of carriers participating in dedicated volume events. Host orientation calls for newly onboarded dedicated volume carriers. Proactively seek opportunities to drive additional savings outside predetermined sourcing areas. Negotiate rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing while aligning with market rate baselines. Lead conversations with carriers under review to terminate lanes/contract. Maintain records for termination. Play a key role in requirements gathering and carrier capability identification for new lines of business and delivery of new products and services. Provide a weekly overview of the region's wins, opportunities, and threats. Advocate continuous improvement and provide feedback for process and systems enhancements. Serve as the 'Go To' subject matter expert for your area of responsibility and book of business. Support ad hoc projects. Administration Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work with diverse carriers and teams under high‑pressure scenarios and tight deadlines. Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities, and projects. Develop and maintain key processes established by the business. Ensure timely and effective problem resolution. Maintain monthly scorecard and establish consistent cadence with carrier performance reviews. Skills Strong understanding of the auto transport industry, carrier types, truck types, and capabilities. Strong organizational skills and the capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans, and solutions to identified issues and problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle high‑pressure situations and tight deadlines. Good judgment, discretion, tact, and the ability to work easily at all levels within the organization. Ability to partner well with colleagues in a matrixed work environment. Ability to work independently and undertake responsibilities with minimal guidance. Adaptable approach and comfortable with ambiguity. Passion for and understanding of the automotive industry and ecosystem. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years direct experience with customer service and/or operations. 5 years automotive industry and/or logistics experience. Servant team member with ability to build strong trusted relationships. Enjoys solving problems and able to resolve conflicts through strong mediation skills. Motivated, driven, and can influence and drive teams to success. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed environments. Demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining strong relationships. Intermediate Excel skills. Work Environment Occasional exposure to weather conditions and noise. Long periods of sitting or standing in an office environment. Compensation Hourly pay rate: $20.10 – $30.10 per hour. The base rate may vary by location and candidate’s qualifications. The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including commission and incentive programs. Benefits Employees are eligible for a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off per month, seven paid holidays, and additional leave such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
