Truck DriverThe Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a 26 feet box truck to transport donated goods and merchandise between donation centers, Goodwill stores and facilities, warehouses, and business partners. To that end, we believe Goodwill's strength lies in the diversity of those we employ, educate, and serve.Competitive weekly payComprehensive benefits including health, dental, and retirement plansGenerous paid time off (PTO) and holidaysAssociate shopping discountCelebratory activitiesCareer advancement opportunitiesFree training and development programsYour Typical DaySafely operate a company truck or van to deliver and pick up merchandise from Goodwill locations and partner sitesLoad and unload trucks, containers, and trailers using equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, lift gates, or forkliftsPerform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediatelyMaintain required documentation including vehicle logs, inspection reports, and load detailsCommunicate with site staff, warehouse leads, and the Transportation Manager regarding arrivals, departures, and route updatesProvide advance notice to sites when en route and complete required documentation upon arrival and departureSecure, pad, and stack items properly to prevent damage during transportReport delays, accidents, or traffic issues promptly to the supervisorUse professional, courteous, and respectful communication when interacting with staff and the publicFollow all Goodwill policies, safety procedures, and required use of safety equipmentSupport retail and organizational operations by completing related duties as assignedWhat You'll NeedHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum of 6 to 12 months of commercial truck driving experience or related experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the roleValid Class C driver's license with a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's insurance standardsAbility to pass DOT drug screening and DOT physicalAbility to read and understand operating and safety instructionsAbility to lift, push, and pull at least 60 lbs consistently and up to 100 lbs periodicallyAbility to use a dolly, pallet jack, lift gate, and forkliftForklift certification or willingness to obtain certification through Goodwill-provided trainingFlexible schedule with availability to work evenings and weekends as neededAbility to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions with moderate to loud noise and dust exposurePhysical ability to stand or sit for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, and pushJoin us in our commitment to sustainability and making a positive contribution to our community.
