Job Title: Construction Estimator Location: Stoystown, PA Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to establish project requirements
- Perform material quantity takeoffs and labor estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication projects
- Request and evaluate quotations from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bid summaries, and proposal documents
- Build and maintain estimating spreadsheets, databases, and historical cost records
- Work with engineering, fabrication, and purchasing teams to confirm estimate accuracy
- Identify project risks, clarifications, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
- Support customer, vendor, and subcontractor relationships throughout the bidding process
- Make occasional visits to the fabrication shop or project sites
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent estimating experience
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Strong analytical and math skills
- Proficiency in Excel and estimating software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ERP software
- Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
