Registered Nurse - Stepdown/Progressive Care

As a Registered Nurse in our Stepdown/Progressive Care unit, you will be responsible for the monitoring, assessment, and complex care of patients who require specialized attention. Your expertise will be vital in managing the care of post-operative, cardiac patients, and those with various complex conditions. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure effective and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics.
• Perform regular assessments, recognize subtle changes in patient conditions, and initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures.
• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
• Provide specialized care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, and those with complex conditions, such as ventilated patients and stroke patients requiring neuro checks.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists) to develop and implement effective care plans.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses.

Schedule

This position follows a 12-hour shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of RN experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care - REQUIRED
• Telemetry monitoring experience - REQUIRED
• Cerner experience - REQUIRED
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications.
• Valid Michigan RN license.
