Principal Infrastructure Engineer

About the Team

You\'ll be joining the Cloud Infrastructure team - a group of elite engineers who own and operate the mission-critical systems powering a global, consumer-scale AI platform. This is not a maintenance role. The team is building from the front: designing and scaling compute, storage, and networking architecture for some of the highest-throughput, lowest-latency workloads in the industry. You\'ll work in close partnership with product, AI research, security, and engineering leadership to ensure the platform remains fast, resilient, and ready for whatever scale comes next.

What You\'ll Be Doing

• Architecting and building scalable ingestion systems that process data from the web, files, and diverse external sources.
• Optimising database and caching interfaces to squeeze performance at scale.
• Collaborating with product managers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver infrastructure that moves with the product.
• Partnering with AI, Search, and Data Science teams to build and iterate on non-deterministic, model-driven systems.
• Owning complex orchestration pipelines with multiple interdependent services and interfaces.
• Continuously scaling, load balancing, and optimizing a rapidly evolving, high-stakes service landscape.

What We\'re Looking For

• Deep, hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong background in databases and caching technologies.
• Proven experience deploying and managing AWS cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Comfort working with high-scale data pipelines and non-deterministic systems, including LLMs.
• An engineer who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes ownership end-to-end.
