Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care / Medical Surgical

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel position in Acute Care / Medical Surgical. This role involves working nights, specifically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with a primary focus on telemetry and progressive care.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough nursing assessments and provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting.
Administer medications and manage IV starts and ICU drips as needed.
Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
Ensure adherence to best practices and compliance with all healthcare regulations.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care or medical-surgical setting is preferred.
Experience with telemetry and progressive care nursing is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Block scheduling may be offered, and there are no on-call requirements.

Patient Care Information

The facility has a total of 40 licensed beds, including 10 swing beds.
The nursing unit comprises 20 beds with an average monthly department volume reflecting an average daily census of 10 patients.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6 for acute care and 1:10 for swing bed patients.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
