RN - Preoperative

Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Op

Location: Wichita, KS

Number of Beds: 9 Preoperative beds, 5 Phase 2 recovery beds

Staffing: 8 full-time RNs (2 open positions), 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, 1 unit Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)

Patient Ratios: 1:3

Type of Equipment: Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, bladder scanner

Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Skills: Minimum 1 year of current acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience, BLS and ACLS certifications

Preferred Skills: Experience in preoperative settings or ability to assist preoperative staff, Familiarity with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures: Phase 2 recoveries of urology, gynecology, and other same-day surgery patients; Preoperative surgeries, endoscopy, catheterization, electrophysiology, computed tomography patients; Outpatient infusions, EKGs, blocks, and blood transfusions

On-call rotations are part of the role, requiring a response time of 30 minutes when on-call. Two 10-hour on-call shifts are required every 8 weeks.
