Job Description Job Summary The Financial Reporting Manager manages the monthly close process and is responsible for preparing the quarterly reporting to Subaru Corporation (SBR). This role oversees general, administrative, and capital expenses and budgets, including related reporting, analysis, and coordination with business stakeholders. The position is also responsible for preparing standalone financial statements, developing and distributing monthly financial reports, supporting various compliance and government reporting requirements, and supporting external financial statement audits and J-SOX audits. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting close governance, including balance sheet reconciliations, account certification processes, journal entry reviews, and compliance with corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including establishing close calendars, monitoring completion of key deliverables, resolving cross-functional issues, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, account reconciliations, rollforwards, journal entries, and related financial analyses to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- reprepares and submit the quarterly Stravis financial reporting package to Subaru Corporation ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting in accordance with corporate requirements.
- Manage General and Administrative (G&A) and capital expense areas, including oversight of related budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis activities, while partnering with business stakeholders to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Oversee the preparation of standalone financial statements and supports external financial statement audits and J-SOX audits, including coordination of audit requests, documentation, and related reporting requirements.
- Lead the assessment, implementation, and ongoing compliance with new accounting standards, including evaluating financial statement impacts, updating processes, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Provide technical accounting oversight for lease accounting, employee benefit plans, and other complex accounting areas in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Perform accounting for income taxes in accordance with IFRS standards, including the recognition, measurement, and disclosure of current and deferred tax obligations, while coordinating with the tax team and external tax specialists to support accurate and compliant tax reporting.
- Manage and develop team members, providing direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure accurate, timely, and effective execution of financial reporting responsibilities.
- Oversee the completion of required reporting and documentation to support the filing and receipt of applicable tax credits.
- Complete and review various monthly, quarterly, and annual government reports and submits in a timely manner to government agencies.
- Maintain Subaru of America (SOA) Foundation's accounting and financial statements.
- Coordinate closely with Human Resources to ensure all HR-related accounting activities are completed accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- At least 10-12 years Required
- Process improvement mindset, including the ability to identify efficiencies, strengthen controls, and implement new accounting standards or procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research accounting issues and explain financial results
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and/or IFRS
- Strong systems and analytical skills, including proficiency with Oracle, OneStream, Power BI, and advanced Excel preferred
- Non Clinical\CPA - Certified Public Accountant Preferred
- Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)
- Hybrid Role: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]
