Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on safe and efficient material handling in a warehouse environment, including operating stand-up forklifts, managing inventory, and supporting kitting and verification activities. You will spend your time between driving material handling equipment and performing hands-on inventory tasks such as counting, labeling, and verifying parts against pick lists. Depending on business needs, you may be assigned to different roles within the area.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up/order picker forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in a warehouse setting.

• Handle materials throughout the building, including moving parts to designated locations and supporting verification areas.

• Review printed pick lists and verify that inventory on hand matches part numbers, descriptions, and quantities listed.

• Label inventory and ensure all tags and labels are correctly applied and correspond to the right parts and locations.

• Count inventory by hand on the warehouse floor and confirm that physical quantities and labels are accurate.

• Use a computer to perform basic navigation and general data entry related to inventory tracking and accuracy.

• Maintain high standards of inventory control, accuracy, and tracking to support shipping, receiving, and production needs.

• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of harnesses when operating man-up equipment at height, and demonstrate strong commitment to safe forklift operation.

• Work collaboratively with team members, contribute to a high level of team cooperation, and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

• Participate in initial forklift training and on-the-job training, then consistently apply learned skills to daily operations.

• Be open to and available for required overtime, including extended daily hours and weekend work, as needed to meet business demands.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of previous forklift experience, with forklift operation performed within the last 5 years in a prior role.

• Proven ability to operate forklifts in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, including stand-up/man-up equipment and electric carts.

• Comfort operating man-up/stand-up forklifts while wearing a harness

• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate systems and perform general data entry for inventory control and tracking.

• Ability to bend, twist, and lift as needed to count, locate, and move product throughout the building.

• Demonstrated strong attendance record in previous roles

• Willingness to work required overtime, including 10-hour days and regular Saturday work, and flexibility to support business needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Forsyth, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
