Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or similar environments preferred.
• Ability to accurately interpret spoken language into sign and vice versa, adapting as needed for different age groups and subject matter.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or similar credential strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Flexible and adaptable to various classroom settings and student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, assemblies, and meetings for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
• Provide clear and effective communication to support students’ learning and engagement.

• Serve as a resource to staff, fostering understanding of deaf culture and best practices for accessibility.
