PURPOSE
The IT Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of IT services as they relate to the local facility. The purpose of this role is to address customer needs, as well as maintain and support IT standards. This role also assists with installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure optimal performance of end-user workstations, design solutions for non-standard workspaces, and provide recommendations for proper hardware. Respond to inquiries and requests for technical assistance from end-users. Provide a personable interface between the IT teams and IT's customers. Maintain a documented inventory of all IT assets for the local site, tracking end-of-life, warranty, and support dates and working with Corporate IT to replace aging equipment. Leverage departmental tools to monitor and maintain the uptime of local data center infrastructure, including environmental equipment (power and cooling) and network/server hardware. Install and repair technology infrastructure, escalating to vendors or the IT Infrastructure team as necessary. Maintain and support the backups of local production infrastructure. Support customer use of local applications and equipment, escalating to vendors, the IT Infrastructure team, or IT Applications team as necessary. Train users in the use of new hardware and application software and software tools. Coordinate with other IT staff to learn new skills and improve the consistency of the end-user experience at all Calumet locations. Work with the IT Site Support Team to complete projects for the company. After-hours support may be necessary in limited situations. Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, or similar technical field Ability to participate in on-call rotations during off‑hours and weekends Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsCOMPETENCIES
