Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit or department during the assigned shift. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Engages in ongoing assessments of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with management team members.
  • Works with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that enhances outcomes and service quality.
  • Promotes a patient-first philosophy and participates in service recovery when necessary.
  • Assists in improving staff engagement by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
  • Provides input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements actions related to training, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor aspects in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
  • Ensures proper inventory control and assists in managing supplies and equipment.
Qualifications Required:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within 90 days of starting employment.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate Degree in nursing.

No travel is required.

No prior experience is necessary.
