Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN UP Specialty: Advanced Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: State RN License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Nursing Process - Patient Assessment - Nursing Interventions - Patient Care Procedures - Nursing Care Documentation Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources. The RN performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. The RN maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN completes an initial assessment upon patient admission and develops an appropriate plan of care. The plan of care is developed in accordance with unit standards and is based on patient and family needs. The RN implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. The RN modifies the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. The RN takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. The RN communicates with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. The RN offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. The RN confers with colleagues to expand their knowledge base. The RN identifies their own learning needs and takes the initiative to begin appropriate solutions. The RN fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. The RN monitors patients 24/7 for seizure activity. The RN ensures good communication with patients and families by utilizing meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards. The RN works with the critical care team and hospitalists for advanced care patients.
