Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Anchorage, Alaska. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a stepdown unit from intensive care, serving a diverse patient population. The position requires a Valid Alaska Registered Nurse license and involves utilizing a co-care/virtual nursing model to deliver high-quality patient care. Job Details Position Description: PCU RN License pending authorization. Must complete Alaska RN license application within 48 hours of signing; a valid Alaska RN license is required for auto offer. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required. Education Requirements: Valid current Alaska RN license in hand, with at least 1 year of experience. Schedule: Night shift, 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week. Patient Population: Approximately 30% cardiac patients including CHF, MI, TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, arrythmias, drug load, Angiovac, ACS, etc. Respiratory patients including COVID, flu, COPD, asthma exacerbations, trach patients, chronic ventilator use. Neuro, renal, and complex medical surgical patients requiring higher level of monitoring. Unit Details: Stepdown from ICU with a wide variety of patient populations using a co-care and virtual nursing model. Bedside RN:4 CNA ratio is 1:6. The virtual nurse supports remote patient care activities. Float: Float within scope to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, MS may be required. Travel and RTO Restrictions: No local candidates; time off approved individually upon offer; candidates must include specific scheduling and RTO requests in submittal. Additional Requirements: Must have license in hand for auto offer and be able to start on 09/28/2026. References covering at least 1 year (6 months for CNAs) are required. Candidates may be expected to float between nearby facilities.
