Senior Software Engineer – DoD/Air Force Programs (SAP)Location: [Insert Location]Travel: Approximately 25%Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS), eligible for SCI and SAPOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support advanced Air Force and DoD acquisition programs within a Special Access Program (SAP) environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in software development, system integration, configuration management, and evaluation of contractor-delivered software for aircraft, avionics, and related support systems. The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy while collaborating with military, civilian, and contractor personnel.Key Responsibilities• Assess DoD contractor software deliveries for aircraft systems and test equipment• Audit contractors for software configuration management and quality accreditation• Track and control Computer Program Identification Numbers (CPINs)• Support acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon system software• Develop and review architecture, interoperability requirements, and system design baselines• Translate user requirements into system/software requirements• Provide system/subsystem integration support throughout the lifecycle• Evaluate system, subsystem, and component test plans; support test execution• Apply in depth knowledge of software design, integration, configuration, and certification• Verify contractor compliance with ISO9000/9002, CMMI, and Air Force standards• Support engineering process development and process improvement initiatives• Utilize and interpret Air Force Technical Orders• Prepare and deliver clear PowerPoint briefings to diverse technical audiences• Create concise technical documents and research papers in Microsoft Word• Read and analyze schedules in Microsoft Project and datasets in Microsoft ExcelRequired Qualifications• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) environment within the last 8 years• Master’s degree (MS/MA) in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution– OR: Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of engineering experience with the DoD, government agencies, or DoD contractors• At least 10 years of senior level experience in software development, sustainment, and systems engineering• Ability to clearly brief small groups of technical and non technical stakeholders• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)Security ClearanceActive Top Secret clearance (current within 5 years), with eligibility for SCI and SAPAdditional Information• Candidates will be required to complete a Pre Screening Questionnaire prior to hiring consideration• Approximately 25% travel is required to support program activities#LI-CH1#mtsi-jobs#mtsi-careersTop SecretPerks and BenefitsVacation:New Hires Accrue 20 days of PTO and 10 Holidays per YearHealth Insurance:Zero Deductible Health PlansFlexible Schedules:Flex SchedulesProfessional Development:Up to $10,000 Annual Education/Training ReimbursementESOP:Funded Stock Ownership Plan401k Match+:6% 401k Match + Immediate VestingBonus Program:Semi-Annual Bonus OpportunityMentorship:Career Mentorship ProgramsWhy is MTSI a great place to workInteresting Work:Our co-workers support some of the most important and critical programs to our national defense and security.Values:Our first core value is that employees come first.
