Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown

Location

Council Bluffs, IA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every other weekend required | 1 major and 1 minor holiday required | Cyclic scheduling

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Stepdown/PCU unit managing diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin per protocol
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Monitor and troubleshoot CPAP equipment as needed
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a fast-paced environment with high admit and discharge volume
• Float to ICU when appropriate and based on experience

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Ability to pass a department-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited; compliance with facility fingernail policy is required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• ICU experience or background suitable for occasional float coverage
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and patient-centered care
