Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: Nights, 8 PM - 8 AM

The Registered Nurse practices independently within a clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. They provide routine and complex care, developing long-range goals or plans. The nurse continues to enhance their ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing, while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to effectively manage clinical situations.

• Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Adds to increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required (AHA only).
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
