Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establish care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs, and reassess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care, modifying plans based on patient outcomes and clinical evaluations.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical facts and patient evaluations; perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
• Coordinate and delegate team work assignments to ensure completion of required patient care support activities, following up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness.
• Participate in patient and family health education, discharge planning, and timely documentation of interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Support a positive work environment by demonstrating professionalism, effective communication, and collaboration with staff, physicians, and visitors.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant Operating Room / Surgical nursing experience.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served; knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an Operating Room or Surgical setting.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt readily to changes in work environment, schedule, and patient care demands.
• Experience participating in orientation of new staff or students within a clinical unit.
