What You'll Do
As an EverCare Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), you will use peer-support principles and lived experience to support recovery, independence, and connection.
Build authentic, recovery-focused relationships
Use lived experience appropriately to promote hope and recovery
Help clients identify strengths, goals, and natural supports
Encourage self-advocacy, confidence, independence, and community involvement
Connect clients with appropriate community resources
Support wellness routines and approved recovery-oriented activities
Model healthy boundaries and self-direction
Collaborate appropriately with EverCare staff and other authorized supports
Observe and report behavioral health or safety concerns
Complete required documentation accurately and on time
Participate in supervision and required training
Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies
Travel between assigned locations throughout Mountain Home and surrounding communities
Scope of the Role
Peer Support is a non-clinical behavioral health role. Peer Support Specialists do not independently diagnose, conduct clinical assessments, provide psychotherapy, create clinical treatment plans, or recommend medications.
Qualifications
At least 18 years old
High school diploma, GED, or higher education
Current Idaho Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification, or ability to obtain certification before independently providing services requiring it
Lived experience with mental illness and recovery consistent with Idaho's CPSS model
Ability to maintain certification, continuing education, and ethical standards
Ability to pass required Idaho background checks and facility clearances
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and required auto insurance
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Ability to complete electronic documentation accurately and on time
