Exciting Opportunity for ICU/CCU Registered Nurse - 12 Hour Nights!

Job Description:


- Unit: ICU/CCU
- Bed Capacity: 12 beds in either CCU or ICU
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- EKG Dysrhythmia Course (Advanced)
- Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
- EMR System: Meditech
- Charge Nurse: Yes (No patient assignment)
- Nurse Aides: None
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Rotated with permanent staff
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Tele/Monitor Techs: GE (Available if census is high; RN's read and interpret strips)
- Common Drips Utilized:
- Cardizem
- Diprivan
- Amiodarone
- Dopamine
- Dobutamine
- Fentanyl
- Versed
- Ventilator Care: Yes
- Physician Coverage: All independent physicians; no Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house
- IV Team: No
- Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
- Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7
- Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts (7 PM to 7 AM)
- First to float between ICU/CCU and potentially Telemetry (1:4 ratio)
- Floating to ER available with training offered
- Orientation:
- 2-3 shifts on-unit
- One shift of telemetry orientation if required
- Three shifts of ER orientation if floating
- Common Diagnoses/Patient Types:
- ICU: Sepsis, CHF, COPD, Vented patients (no CRRT)
- CCU: Balloon pumps, post-cath, open heart, lobectomies, thrombectomies with complications, spinal surgeries (1:1 for initial 6 hours)
- Traveler Restrictions: Cannot take open heart or balloon pump patients
- Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment
- 3 shifts for shorter assignments
- Charting System: Cerner
- BSN Requirement: No
- License to Submit: Yes
- Trauma Level: High-acuity care setting
- Contract Duration: 91 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
