Job Brief
We are currently seeking an experienced Piping Quantity Surveyor to support the construction phase of a major industrial project focused on green steel. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, monitoring, and reporting piping quantities, tracking progress against project plans, verifying contractor claims, and supporting cost control and commercial functions throughout project execution.
You will work closely with Construction, Project Controls, Cost Management, Engineering, and Contractor teams to ensure accurate quantity tracking and reporting while supporting project objectives for cost, schedule, and quality performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Measure and quantify installed piping works according to project requirements, drawings, and specifications.
- Track piping construction progress and maintain accurate quantity reporting records.
- Review IFC drawings, isometrics, piping layouts, material take-offs (MTOs), and construction documentation.
- Verify contractor progress claims and assess completed work against approved quantities.
- Assist in the preparation and validation of monthly progress reports and quantity summaries.
- Monitor installed quantities for piping systems, pipe supports, valves, fittings, specialty items, and associated materials.
- Support project cost control teams by providing accurate quantity data and installation progress updates.
- Identify quantity growth, scope changes, and trends impacting project budgets and schedules.
- Assist in evaluating variations, change orders, and compensation events related to piping construction activities.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, planning, and commercial teams to ensure alignment of quantity reporting.
- Participate in site inspections to verify completed works and physical progress.
- Maintain quantity tracking databases and reporting systems.
- Support contractor performance measurement and earned value reporting activities.
- Ensure all measurement and reporting activities are completed in accordance with project procedures and contractual requirements.
- Assist with mechanical completion and turnover quantity verification activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Commercial Manager, Quantity Survey Lead, or Construction Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Control, Commercial Management, or Quantity Measurement within EPC, EPCM, industrial, steel, mining, energy, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically supporting piping construction activities.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, isometric drawings, MTOs, piping layouts, and construction workflows.
- Experience measuring piping quantities and verifying contractor progress claims.
- Knowledge of quantity take-offs, cost control processes, earned value management, and construction progress reporting.
- Experience working with large-scale industrial or heavy construction projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness skills.
- Experience supporting valuation of variations, scope changes, and contractor claims.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and construction management systems.
- Experience with project controls software and reporting tools is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and reporting accuracy.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis in Northern Sweden.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience on steel plants, mining projects, battery facilities, petrochemical plants, power generation projects, or other major industrial developments.
- Experience within PMC, EPC, or EPCM project delivery organizations.
- Knowledge of European construction standards and commercial practices.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Power BI, Aconex, SAP, or similar project management tools.
