Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2.5 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required, CNOR preferred Must-Have: - General OR and Trauma experience required - Level I trauma experience required - Required case experience includes appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, and Whipple - Required trauma case experience includes amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multiple injuries - Experience with cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion - Required emergency management skills include code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia Description: This position requires working in the operating room. Shifts are 4x10s from 12:45 PM to 11:15 PM. All service lines except cardiovascular will be handled. On-call duty is required, typically one per week. Candidates must have experience with laparoscopic assisted cases. The hospital is a Level I trauma center. Knowledge of infection control, specimen handling, and universal protocol is essential. Candidates must be committed to completing compliance requirements in a timely manner. Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to apply. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by management. Candidates must work two of the three major holidays. Floating is required for travelers. References may be pending at the time of submission. Previous employees must be separated for at least 12 months before returning. Required certifications must be included based on the job description.
