Infant Teacher - Early Head StartApproved Salary: $20-$35.70/hr, based on experience, education, and certificationSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:15am to 3:45pmThis role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where infants can grow and thrive. The Teacher designs and delivers individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum informed by child observations, assessment data, and family input. Through responsive caregiving and strong partnerships, the Teacher supports positive outcomes for children and families while ensuring consistent supervision and full compliance with all program policies and federal, state, and local standards.Summary/ObjectiveMission -driven, community-focused work in a supportive, team-based environment, with ongoing training, coaching, and career growth, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children and families.Essential FunctionsCreate a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.Plan and implement individualized curriculum based on observations, assessments, and family input.Use the Pyramid Model to support social-emotional development.Conduct developmental screenings, track progress, and support early intervention referrals as needed.Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, and home visits.Collaborate with co-teachers, specialists, and Family Support staff.Ensure active supervision and maintain a clean, organized classroom.Use positive discipline strategies to guide behavior.Maintain accurate documentation (attendance, assessments, incidents, meal counts).Participate in trainings, coaching, and ongoing professional development.CompetenciesStrong communication and teamwork skills.Bilingual (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole) a plus.Work EnvironmentWorks indoors and outdoors as needed.
