Field Surveyor AssistantResponsible for assisting with field surveying activities, including maintenance of survey equipment. Reports to the Party Chief. Keeps abreast of the latest surveying methods and recommends revisions to the surveying procedures to the Party Chief as identified.Responsibilities:Work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clientsSet-up and operate survey equipment, including total-station, data-collector, level, and GPSPerform survey calculationsPerform all aspects of stakeout and locations surveys using applicable survey equipmentMaintain survey equipment used and keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and toolsCoordinate work of assigned subordinate personnelAssist and train personnel in lower-level positionsMake accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment usedRequired Skills and Experience:High school diploma or GEDMinimum of (1-3) years of experience working on a land surveying partyFamiliar with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveysAbility to perform all aspects of data collected field fun topographic surveys, road frontage cross-section surveys and as-built surveysThrough knowledge of total station, GPS and data collection, with the ability to adapt to new equipment and technologiesAbility to work outside in all seasonsMust be willing to travel
