About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Orthopedic Med-Surg/Telemetry – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday). Up to 7 days of pre-approved time off (no holidays). Orientation: 36 hours.

Highlights:

• Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with med-surg and post-surgical patients
• Patient ratio typically 5-6:1 (may flex to 7:1 in extreme cases)
• Contract duration: 20+ weeks, with assignment ending February 27, 2027
• Epic EMR experience required; strong focus on pain management and customer service
• No call requirement; floating to other med-surg units as needed based on census
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; holiday incentive program available

Requirements:

• Active RN license (NC or Compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with orthopedic experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Required skills: IV start and maintenance, telemetry monitoring and interpretation, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, isolation precautions, PCA pumps, surgical drains, total joint replacement care, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury management, peripheral nerve block catheters, hip and trauma hip experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Preferred: ACLS certification, charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience
