Overview: The Director of Quality and Patient Safety serves as the facility-based quality leader for Sentara Leigh Hospital, providing strategic oversight for quality outcomes, accreditation, regulatory readiness, patient safety, and performance improvement. This leader partners closely with hospital executives, medical staff, physician leaders, nursing leadership, Infection Prevention, and Risk Management to advance quality outcomes across a leading 274-bed acute care hospital recognized for nursing excellence, stroke care, orthopedic and spine services, heart and vascular care, and maternity services. The Director is responsible for quality improvement programs, event review and root cause analysis, medical staff peer review, accreditation support, and advancing organizational goals related to patient safety, quality performance, and CMS measures. Education Bachelor's Degree (Required) Master’s Degree (Preferred) Certification Active Registered Nurse license in VA (Required) Location Onsite: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA Experience Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required. Minimum of 5 years of clinical management and nursing leadership experience required. 3 years hospital quality leadership experience strongly preferred. Experience leading quality improvement, accreditation, regulatory readiness, and patient safety initiatives. Experience with quality event review, root cause analysis, peer review, and performance improvement programs. Knowledge of CMS requirements, quality reporting, and healthcare regulatory standards. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with physicians, nursing leaders, executives, and multidisciplinary teams. Experience leading, mentoring, and developing quality professionals. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $146,702.40 - $228,966.40 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
