Registered Nurse, Director of Training

Nurse V - Director of Training - EHR Modernization - Integration Office (Office of Training) Summary: This advanced healthcare executive role leads EHR modernization and integration, guiding complex EHR programs and services. The position will be located in a VA office and requires up to 75% travel. Applicant cut‑off is the first 100 applicants. Qualifications English language proficiency. Graduate of a professional nursing school approved by ACEN or CCNE, or currently in a master’s level bridge program equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. State license in an approved U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia, or eligibility for a temporary appointment as a Graduate Nurse Technician while pursuing licensure. Minimum 5 years professional nursing experience, including specialized experience equivalent to Nurse IV, and a master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN; or a doctoral degree in Nursing or related field with a BSN and 4 years experience. Preferred: one year of experience with Electronic Health Records in a major healthcare system, leading change‑management activities, and leading cross‑office or cross‑organization teams. Leadership experience establishing strategic direction, driving performance improvements, and managing resources at an organizational or enterprise level. Business acumen and application of data analytics, informatics, and technology to improve care. Strong communication and relationship‑management skills. Commitment to ethical principles, professional responsibility, and health equity. Physical requirements: sedentary work, good visual acuity, hearing, speech, and manual dexterity; ability to work in stressful situations and shift priorities. Duties Serve as a key leader in strategic planning, national program development, and policy setting for nursing practices across VA systems. Collaborate with senior national leadership and cross‑functional teams to align nursing initiatives with organizational goals. Establish and enforce standards for nursing practice, ensuring quality patient services and continuous improvement. Delegate responsibilities, conduct performance reviews, and provide developmental and training support for staff. Apply human resources management functions and maintain compliance with safety regulations. Represent patient, family, and community interests in all interactions, ensuring respectful and courteous care. Benefits Competitive salary with regular increases and potential performance awards.
