Overview Department: Sugery Shifts Available:Days Employment Type: Full Time Hours: 6:30am- 3:30p Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite , TX We are seeking aCertified Surgical TechnologistIII ,sometimes referred to asaSurgicalTechIII,OR TechIIIor Scrub Tech III.The Certified Surgical Technologist serves as an advanced surgical team member responsible for supportinghighly complexsurgical procedures, ensuringoptimaloperating room efficiency, and serving as a clinical resource for surgical staff. The CST leads advanced case preparation,assistssurgeons bymaintaininga sterile field and anticipating procedural needs, mentors’ surgical technologists, and promotes best practices in patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities The Certified Scrub Tech III (CST III)leadssterile preparation and serves as the primary scrub for complex surgical cases, using advanced skills to support surgeons and drive safe, efficient OR performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Advanced Clinical Leadership– Serve as a lead surgical technologist for complex and specialty procedures, providing guidance, mentorship, and technicalexpertiseto surgical staff while modeling best practices in sterile technique and patient safety Complex Case Preparation –Coordinate and prepare operating rooms for highly specialized procedures, ensuring availability of advanced instrumentation, implants, and equipment whileanticipatingsurgeon preferences and procedural needs Intraoperative Expertise– Provide advanced intraoperative support by passing instruments,maintainingsterile technique, anticipating next steps, and troubleshooting equipment or supply issues to supportoptimalsurgical outcomes Instrument and Implant Management– Ensureaccuratecounts of sponges, needles, instruments, and implants while supporting implant documentation, specimen handling, and case trackingin accordance withregulatory requirements Education and Mentorship– Support onboarding and training of new surgical technologists,assistwith competency development, and serve as a resource for clinical questions, specialty techniques, and equipment use Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: Graduate of a Certified Surgical Tech. (CST) training program Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Certification upon hire required and maintained for employment. Experience and Mastery, in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (General, Urology, Eye (cataracts), Gynecology, and Hand Specialty, in addition to, demonstrates proficiency and skill in basic spine procedures (Laminectomies), Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Total Joints, Complicated spinal fusion surgery (including 360), and Complicated Orthopedics: Sports Medicine and Total Joints, and Joint Revisions. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current, Current CST certificate upon hire.
