Details Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) setting operating 24/7 with 15 beds Day shift staffed with 3 RNs plus an EMT-P or Nurse Extern from 9am-6:30pm Night shift staffed with 3 RNs plus an EMT-P from 6:30pm-6:30am Patient ratios of 1:4 depending on acuity Uses Baxter pumps, Hamilton vents, GE cardiac monitors, and Stryker stretchers Meditech EMR used 7A-7P shift schedule over a 13-week assignment Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities Floating unlikely as units are typically staffed to core, though 5 EDs are available within the system Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Current BLS, ALS, TNCC, CPI (or equivalent), and PALS or ENPC certifications required NIH Stroke Certification required Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start Skilled in rapidly identifying Sepsis, STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma Airway management and ventilator experience preferred Strong critical thinking skills preferred US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Perform splinting, wound care, IV starts, medication administration, and patient assessments/reassessments Provide oversight of EMT-P staff Document care thoroughly and communicate with the Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), including clocking out for lunch breaks and any time leaving the building Best fit for compassionate, non-abrasive caregivers with a strong sense of urgency and team orientation Royal blue scrubs required; hoodies not permitted Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-747912.
