Commercial Sales Engineer

As a Commercial Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in driving sustainable growth, developing strong customer relationships, and supporting the company’s mission to maximize value and profitability. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with assigned engineering, owner, and contractor accounts through regular sales calls and outreach.
• Price, submit, and order design-build and replacement projects for assigned contractor accounts.
• Support the Engineering Department’s inside team by reviewing pricing, submittals, and order worksheets for assigned engineering accounts.
• Follow up on proposals and assist the outside sales team in closing equipment orders.
• Provide system design support and equipment selection assistance to assigned engineering accounts.
• Participate in local industry organizations such as ASHRAE to support personal and company goals.
• Travel to various locations as needed to provide training and support.
• Follow up on plan and spec bids, answer questions, and provide competitive feedback to the sales team.
• Maintain monthly sales and quoting reports, identify business opportunities, and report on trends and new products.
• Provide weekly updates and reporting to management as required.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding field activity, sales, competitors, and forecasts.
• Track travel and incidental expenses, prepare expense reports, and ensure expenses are within budget.
• Maintain and update CRM activity calendars, document sales calls, and keep customer information current.
• Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; College degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 3-5 years of productive sales experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP, and CRM systems.
• Strong attention to detail, goal orientation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Experience with cash application, cash handling, and reconciliation.
• Technical knowledge to apply and sell all products in the company’s line card.
• Strong mechanical skill set and knowledge of basic heat transfer concepts.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Relationship building and strategic selling abilities.
• Ability to interpret and forecast changes in customer buying patterns and product requirements.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to identify market dynamics and implement competitive strategies.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, profit margins, unit conversions, percentages, area, and volume.
