About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Float Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Description: Travelers can have one of three major holidays off and must work two holidays. Position is for a Registered Nurse in a MS Tele Float role. The shift consists of three 12-hour days from 07:00 to 19:30. Required to work all scheduled shifts; no scheduling requests outside of approved time off can be accommodated. A hard stop for first-time travelers is in place. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Travelers are asked to be flexible with scheduling. No call is required for this position. Clinicians will float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. A block schedule is not available. Travelers must be proficient in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. There will be a fill-in-the-blank pass/fail test at orientation. Experience with orthopedic and neuro-stroke patients is required. A patient ratio of 1:4-5 will be maintained. Experience with telemetry units is essential. Floating is expected throughout various acute care units, including behavioral health. Floating may involve working four hours in one unit and eight hours in another. Strong time management skills are necessary for this role. Solid color scrubs are acceptable; additional scrubs are provided by the unit. The charting system used is Epic. Candidate requirements include understanding of a diverse patient population. Interdisciplinary support will be available for various services. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census varies based on patient flow and needs. Candidates are expected to meet all compliance and training requirements prior to starting.
