Transportation Manager

Job Description Summary: CWT Farms International is hiring an ideal candidate for the position of Transportation Manager. This Manager is responsible for overseeing daily transportation and logistics operations to ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient movement of company products and materials. This role manages transportation scheduling, shipment coordination, operational communication, inventory movement tracking, and transportation-related documentation while supporting overall operational efficiency. They will also be responsible for supervising transportation personnel and supporting employee management activities including hiring, training, coaching, disciplinary actions, scheduling, and performance management. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity, resolving transportation issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards in a fast-paced agricultural and production environment. Job Description: * Oversee daily transportation and logistics operations for domestic and international shipments. * Coordinate transportation schedules, shipment timelines, and carrier communication to ensure operational efficiency. * Manage international logistics responsibilities including border crossing documentation, customs paperwork, invoicing, bills of lading (BOL), shipment verification, and transportation tracking. * Ensure transportation-related documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company procedures and regulatory requirements. * Monitor inventory movement and coordinate with operations, hatchery, production, receiving, and inventory departments to ensure shipment accuracy. * Investigate and resolve transportation discrepancies, shipment delays, inventory inconsistencies, and documentation issues. * Communicate with carriers, brokers, vendors, and internal departments regarding transportation and shipment status. * Develop, implement, and maintain transportation SOPs, tracking systems, and operational procedures. * Support operational planning and transportation process improvements. * Monitor transportation performance, scheduling efficiency, and operational needs. * Supervise transportation and logistics personnel and assist with staffing needs. * Participate in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, employee training, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance management. * Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, USDA/CFIA requirements, and applicable transportation regulations. * Maintain transportation records, operational reports, and shipment documentation. * Respond to operational and transportation emergencies as needed. * Remain on-call to support transportation operations and urgent operational situations outside of normal business hours. Qualifications: * Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred. * High School Diploma or GED required. * Equivalent combination of education and relevant transportation, logistics, agricultural, or operations experience may be considered. * Minimum of 3-5 years of transportation, logistics, operations, agricultural, or supply chain experience preferred. * Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. * Experience with transportation coordination, inventory systems, operational logistics, or international shipment documentation preferred. * Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and transportation/inventory management systems. * Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in operational and employee matters. * Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Physical Requirements: * Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. * Ability to work in office and production environments. * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. * Ability to use computers, phones, and office equipment regularly. * Ability to travel between facilities or operational locations as needed. * Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules when operationally necessary. * Ability to respond quickly to transportation and operational emergencies.
