Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)

Haley Ward is seeking a Land Surveyor in Training in our Leominster, MA office to collect land information using survey instruments, conduct reconnaissance, mark property boundaries, conduct construction stakeout, and assist Land Surveyors with computer-aided drafting and math computations. Responsibilities Perform work on boundary and topographic surveys, and construction stakeouts as part of a field crew or alone using Leica robotic instrumentation. Collect data on significant site features, locating and recovering property pins and boundary markers. Ensure all projects are completed according to plan schedules, company policy, and production standards. Assist with the preparation of survey drawings utilizing CAD software. Collaborate with other Survey Staff to meet project goals. Working Conditions This position requires sufficient physical stamina to work long hours outdoors under various field conditions, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and tolerate temperature extremes and inclement weather. Work hours are subject to change with overtime as needed to meet project schedules, and occasional overnight travel may be required. Qualifications LSIT with 7 years of combined experience and education. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow written and oral instructions. Experience with Leica and Carlson surveying equipment is preferred, but not required. AutoCAD experience is required. Valid driver’s license required. A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted. Compensation The estimated range for this role is $68,394 to $87,837. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually and may be adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, additional responsibilities, and licensure and/or certification.
