Title : Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Location : Bolingbrook, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary :$25-$30/hr.

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a hands-on technical position that will work closely with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering while serving as a liaison to Assembly and Production teams. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their manufacturing career who wants to gain hands-on experience with prototypes, assembly, CAD, and manufacturing processes.

Job Duties:

• Assist with building prototypes for new product development (NPD) and other assembly projects outside of normal production.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates, measurements, and technical documentation.
• Assemble components and subassemblies by examining connections for proper fit and fastening parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and bills of material.
• Safely operate small hand and power tools.
• Support the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team with hands-on assembly and technical projects.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma/GED required; Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training preferred.
• 0-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and bills of material.
• Milling experience is a plus.
• Basic CAD design experience is a plus; training will be provided on AutoCAD and Creo.
• PLC troubleshooting or programming experience is a plus; training will be provided on PLC programming.
