About the Vision

First Baptist Church Leesburg is searching for a spiritually mature and musically gifted Worship Pastor for the Village Park Campus in Fruitland Park, FL. This position’s focus is on leading and shaping the worship ministry at this campus. This role is designed for a collaborative leader who will serve as part of a multi-site staff team. The Worship Ministry Team is directed by the church’s Senior Worship Pastor  who coordinates all aspects of this ministry department across their four campuses.

The leader desired is one that is relationally engaging, deeply passionate about guiding congregations in worship, has experience rehearsing choirs, and is comfortable leading worship from an instrument. This leader would affirm and model First Baptist Church Leesburg’s vision to be “A light to our community, and a launching pad to the nations.”

The vision for this role is to lead individuals and families to build their lives on the practice of honoring God through lifelong worship. This would be expressed in connecting homes to God’s Word, the community of believers at First Baptist Church Leesburg, and investing in meaningful opportunities of service. This leader would strive to empower the generations to engage the lost with the gospel both locally and globally.

About the Church

First Baptist Church Leesburg is a four campus multi-site church in Lake County. Their campuses are in Downtown Leesburg, Oxford, Howey-In-The-Hills (South Campus), Fruitland Park (Village Park Campus). Each location has live music and preaching weekly. Our worship services are intentionally designed to accommodate a blend of contemporary songs, psalms, and classic hymns. Through it all, our singular focus remains on glorifying God and lifting the name of Jesus. The Village Park Campus is located on the edge of The Villages, which is the largest retirement community in the US.

First Baptist Church Leesburg is a pastor-led and deacon-served church. Pastor Cliff Lea has served FBCL for nearly 20 years. The church is known in the community as being welcoming, friendly, focused on worshipping the Lord, connecting to Him and other believers, and engaging the lost in Leesburg and beyond. They are a multigenerational church with a mix of young families and retirees.

A unique partnership that was started by FBC Leesburg is its Christian Care Center (CCC). CCC was founded in 1985 with a vision and mission of “Meeting Needs and Sharing Christ” in Leesburg, Lake County and the surrounding areas. Today the CCC is comprised of seven different ministries as well as the Community Medical Care Center (a medical partnership with Leesburg Regional Medical Center). This ministry extension of the church has solidified a place in Lake County where the gospel is changing lives on a regular basis.

The Worship Pastor for the Village Park Campus is responsible for worship leadership and overseeing the team that serves in the choir, instrumentalists, vocal leaders, and the production team. The role focuses on several areas:

About the Community

Leesburg is “The Lakefront City” of Florida. Located a within a two-hour drive of both the Gulf and Atlantic Coast, you’re also minutes away from the manatees of Crystal River or the theme parks of Orlando. The Village Park Campus of First Baptist Church Leesburg is on the edge of The Villages, the nation’s largest 55+ retirement community. There are over 150,000 residents who call The Villages home, and that home’s footprint takes up almost 57 square miles.

As you would imagine, Lake County is full of lakes, and many know those lakes are full of some of the best bass fishing in the US. The downtown scene in Leesburg has transformed over the last decade into a vibrant mix of shopping, dining, local art. The Fruitland Park / Leesburg area has close to 50,000 residents with Lake County amassing almost 400,000.

The area has shown steady growth over the last 15 years and is a destination for young families and retirees. The median age is 46 and almost 30% of the households have children under the age of 18. Lake County provides a budget friendly environment for families that are significantly lower than metro-Orlando and the coasts to its west and east.

The area offers abundant natural attractions-hiking, boating, wildlife viewing, and springs. Fruitland Park boasts highly rated schools, diverse neighborhoods, and lots of sunshine.
