About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week contract position in Bethel, Alaska. The OR RN will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients across the lifespan, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care .

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized perioperative nursing care for surgical patients from birth through older adulthood.
• Provide safe and effective pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care according to established clinical standards.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient condition, interpret diagnostic information, and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
• Collaborate with surgeons and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate efficient, patient-centered surgical care and continuity of treatment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, provide patient and family education, and follow AORN standards, infection-control practices, and established safety procedures.

Requirements

• Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License in Good Standing Required.
• Minimum 4 Years of Nursing Experience Required; Operating Room Experience Required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) From an Approved Nursing Program Required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
• Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS Certifications Required; PALS Certification Preferred.
• Knowledge of AORN Standards and Perioperative Nursing Required; National Certification in Surgery or PACU Preferred.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse will provide skilled perioperative nursing care while supporting safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical services.
