Our organization is currently seeking dedicated Primary Care Physicians to provide exceptional care for our Veterans, America's Heroes . This rewarding role encompasses a variety of services, including preventive medicine, neurology, infectious disease, laboratory, and audiology. As one of nine VA clinics, we serve over 80,000 Veterans in the Inland Empire region. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Providing clinical supervision and guidance to mid-level practitioners, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

• Actively engaging in committees and teams within the Medical Center.

• Contributing to various facility initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care delivery, including participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams.

• Identifying personal professional development needs and engaging in formal education programs, workshops, seminars, and self-directed learning activities, while completing mandatory annual training.

• Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to adult outpatients, particularly those aged 65 and older.

• Staying updated on advancements in disease management and treatment through ongoing medical education, both formal and informal.

• Effectively coordinating patient care activities within Primary Care Services and collaborating with other programs, such as Social Work, Prosthetics, Home Based Health Care (HBHC), and private nursing facilities.

• Demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and treating patients with complex, multi-symptomatic conditions.

• Ensuring timely completion of all medical documentation in CPRS.

• Involving patients, families, and healthcare providers in setting realistic, measurable health education and treatment goals, while assisting staff in mutual goal-setting processes.

• Planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to individual patient needs.

• Assessing Veterans using advanced clinical judgment and physical examination skills.

• Identifying acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues.

• Participating in evaluation sessions for medical students and GME trainees assigned to their services.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency Training program.
• Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, with a preference for candidates having at least 5 years of experience.

• Survivor Benefits: Eligibility for survivor benefits after 10 years of service.
• Annual Leave (Paid Time Off): 208 hours or approximately 26 days of annual leave per year, along with paid vacation, unlimited accumulated paid sick leave, and 11 paid federal holidays accruing immediately.
• Continuing Education: Opportunity to earn CME credits at no cost, with potential for $1,000 or more annually and five or more days of paid leave to attend CME courses (conditions apply).
• Credit for Military Service: Service credits from military time may be carried over to your federal employment for retirement purposes.
