Discover an impactful opportunity to support students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism Support. Two contract positions are available—one at the elementary level and one for junior/senior high. Situated near Mechanicsburg, PA, these roles offer the chance to empower learners with the individualized guidance and care they deserve.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Includes a dedicated 45-minute lunch break
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (appropriate for grade level)
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
- Strong grasp of effective, evidence-based interventions and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct academic and behavioral instruction to students with autism across elementary or junior/senior high settings
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, aides, therapists, and families to support each student's learning and development
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individualized needs and IEP goals
- Manage classroom routines and employ proactive behavior strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain clear, timely documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families regarding student growth
