Job Title: Facilities Specialist/Administrator Job Description

This entry-level Facilities Specialist role supports daily operations in a dynamic environment. It combines facilities maintenance with administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates from non-biotech industries such as electronics or similar fields.

Responsibilities

• Report maintenance issues as they arise and perform minor repairs, such as fixing toilets and handling restroom issues.
• Address basic facility needs, including cleaning up water leaks and maintaining cleanliness of bathrooms and common areas through janitorial duties.
• Assist with administrative tasks and light housekeeping duties.
• Conduct routine facility patrols and inspections to ensure operational efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage external vendors effectively.
• Utilize proficiency in Outlook and scheduling tools for efficient operations.
• Apply office administrator skills such as organization, communication, and coordination.

Essential Skills

• Experience in facilities maintenance and vendor management.
• Strong customer service abilities.
• 35 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proactive approach with the ability to identify issues independently.
• Emphasis on punctuality and strong attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ideal background includes janitorial and office/admin experience.
• Blend of maintenance and administrative skillsets is a must.

Work Environment

The role spans across three buildings, including a cleanroom environment. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 6am to 2:30pm, with occasional on-call duties. The environment is structured yet flexible, supporting both maintenance and administrative tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
