Join us!Purpose Of JobThe Warehouse Team Member II provides a well-stocked and organized warehouse and assists Route Service Managers. Must be able to deliver batteries on a regular basis.Job ComponentsLoad and unload batteriesRestock batteriesCharge, clean, date and rewrap rotationsCharge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteriesMaintain a safe and clean warehouse environmentAccurately maintain warehouse reporting and claimsOperate a forklift and motor vehicleRun the Hot Shots on a timely basis as neededFill in for NAC Delivery Specialist or RSM, as neededCollect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money ordersCollect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.Other duties as requestedQualificationsMinimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skillsStrong time management skills and able to work under pressureKnowledge of carrier operations, shipment routing, and distribution methodsKnowledge of state, federal, and interstate commerce regulationsWorking knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems requiredUnderstanding of hazardous shipping laws and requirementsAbility to operate motor vehicles and/or forkliftMust have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirementsScope DataFrequent independent judgment and decision makingBackup driverOperate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitudeWork EnvironmentRegularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walkSpecific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusBe able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbsExposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicalsExposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicleUse of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requiredNote: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.Interstate Batteries provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
