Currently, they are looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$35/hr - $50/hr (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting within a dynamic retail environment. This role requires a polished, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities and contribute to maintaining the financial integrity of a luxury brand.
Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Perform account reconciliations, including cash, inventory, and prepaid expenses.
Support inventory accounting, including tracking and cost analysis.
Analyze financial data and provide reporting to management.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Merchandising, and Finance teams.
Required Experience/Skills For The Staff Accountant
3 - 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Experience with general ledger and account reconciliations.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Staff Accountant
Experience in luxury or high-end retail environments.
Exposure to inventory accounting and cost analysis.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
Experience with multi-location retail operations.
Prior involvement in audit support or financial reporting.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
