Furnish or produce forms such as applications, appointment forms, fingerprint forms, etc., and provide information with instructions and procedures for renewals and letters of certification for customers. Consult with insurance agents and company representatives on licensure and application status, including direction and follow‑up for licensee/applicant actions. Provide cross training & backup support in areas of expert knowledge, including observation and job shadowing for continuous staff development. Assist in processing and issuing filings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university with major coursework in insurance or business administration. 6 months experience in technical insurance or a field relative to assignment. Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred). Proficiency with a personal computer and Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. Knowledge of agent licensing procedures, policies and processes. Knowledge of insurance principles and practices, and relevant laws and statutes regarding consumer protection, policy requirements, underwriting principles and licensing requirements. Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Skills in using Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint as well as related systems such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS). Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Analyze and solve work‑related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative and technical assignments. Manage and coordinate multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Work both independently and as a team player. Understand and apply rules and statutes including the Texas Insurance Code, Texas Administrative Code and related laws. Draft clear and concise letters. Apply critical thinking to evaluate, analyze and interpret information. Analyze correspondence and filings to extract pertinent information. Represent the agency to licensees, consumers, insurance representatives, legislators and others in a professional manner. Discern matters of a confidential nature. Other Information This position is entry‑level and is supervised with minimal latitude for independent judgment.
