Where people get better at life!Join us in our mission to make a difference and shape a more inclusive future.The Chief Accountant contributes to the Mission of the Center and the Finance Department by completing accounting reconciliation and third party reporting in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibilities include gathering the Center’s financial and statistical information and organizing the information so it can be reported in compliance with the various third party agency regulations. May also be responsible for monitoring grant expenses on a monthly basis to ensure that the expenses are allowable by the grant and are within budget. Works closely with program staff developing budgets, which are submitted to various state agencies for program funding. Supports contract process including but not limited to: Vendor analysis, spend analysis, Bid preparation/tabulation, contract preparation for legal review.Requirements:Education:Bachelor’s degree in field of Accounting, Finance, or a related field is requiredExperience:Minimum of 2 years of related experience in Accounting, Third Party Reporting, or a related field is requiredExperience with governmental or grant-related accounting is a plusSkills & Competencies:Strong understanding of general ledger maintenance and reconciliationsFamiliarity with third-party reporting requirements (e.g., CFR, HUD)Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelDetail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skillsAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departmentsAt the Center for Disability Services, we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our employees and the people we support.
