Senior Electrical Designer

Job Overview Wilson & Company’s Albuquerque, New Mexico office is currently seeking a full-time Senior Electrical Design Lead to support the electrical practice area team. The role focuses on daily operations of project design and inter-office collaboration with staff and team members. The candidate will have great communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. Responsibilities Support the company’s strategic objectives, processes, and tools. Lead the electrical design and support projects ranging from building lighting and power to rail yard power distribution to water treatment plant lighting, power and controls. Perform electrical calculations, such as lighting calculations or voltage drop calculations. Actively lead and mentor electrical designers and CADD technicians on projects. Collaborate with an electrical engineer on project design. Perform and attend site observations, meetings, walkthroughs and inspections. Ensure compliance with Wilson & Company’s quality control and quality assurance standards. Work with other offices, disciplines, and clients. Monitor compliance with firm-wide safety policies. Qualifications Solid knowledge of electrical design codes and software. Experience with NFPA 70, Microsoft Office, and CADD software (Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation). Associate’s degree (or greater) in computer-aided drafting or design, or equivalent experience. Ten or more years of experience in the design of electrical projects. Management or supervision of multiple team members and effective coordination with other engineers and technicians. No need for visa sponsorship; Wilson & Company does not sponsor work visas.
