Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery procedures. Ensure patient safety, assist surgical teams, and adhere to clinical protocols throughout perioperative stages.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive preoperative assessments and prepare patients for cardiac, thoracic, or vascular procedures.
• Assist surgeons and operating room staff during complex surgical interventions, ensuring sterile technique and equipment readiness.
• Monitor patient condition intraoperatively, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
• Manage postoperative care, including patient recovery, ensuring optimal outcomes and documentation.
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate smooth surgical operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with specialized training or experience in cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery nursing.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent perioperative nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Possess a solid understanding of surgical procedures such as CABG, valve repair, ECMO, thoracotomies, and vascular interventions.
• Have experience working within a sterile environment, supporting both open and robotic surgeries.
• Be able to respond within 30 minutes for on-call requirements and work flexible shifts as needed.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols and ability to coordinate with surgical teams effectively.
