State St. - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin 53213Position SummaryThe Meat Cutter is responsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products. Receives stock, cuts, grinds, wraps, weighs, prices, and merchandises meat department products to department specifications. May order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department. Ensures proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness. Perform duties that comply with local health code and follow proper safety procedures and standards. This position requires working weekends and holidays based on department staffing requirements.Here's What You'll DoReceive and fulfill all customer ordersWrap, weigh, label and display all meat merchandiseStock display case and rotate merchandise as requestedAssist customers with all inquiries and requestsOperate machinery by following proper department production and safety standards, as neededConducts inventories and cycle counts as requiredFollows safe food handling and local health department standards.Maintains a safe work environment for employees, vendors and customers.Sustains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation work toward continuous quality improvementGrind and trim meat upon customer's requestInspect and reassemble equipment for use and perform routine maintenance as assignedClean and sanitize work area, equipment and utensils in compliance with health codeDemonstrate excellent customer service standardsWork toward continuous quality improvementEnsures accurate pricing by placing the corresponding price and ingredient labels on each packageConsistently upholds company culture and meets customer service and performance expectations.Uphold, support, and promote compliance with all company policies and procedures.Other duties as assignedHere's What You'll NeedHigh school diploma or GEDMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have two years' previous experience as a Meat Cutter Apprentice or equivalentAbility to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documentsBasic mathematical skillsSuggestive Selling/Knowledge of ProductsDetail OrientedPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
