Position Overview 
The Operations Director will work with the AFT Vermont Board and the AFT Vermont management team to: 

• Manage HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, enhancing staff support systems, benefits administration, and supervision/evaluation structures 
• Execute day-to-day financial operations, including invoicing, budgeting, tracking, and annual financial reporting
• Manage tech platforms, including training and supporting staff and members, regularly assessing systems and providing updates as needed 
• Support the AFT Vermont Board with meetings, logistics, trainings, and biennial convention
• Assist in creating and implementing systematic staff and member training and education.

Qualifications
Three years experience in three or more of the following

• Experience with Labor Unions (or non-profits committed to racial and/or social justice)
• Experience managing financial operations and annual reporting 
• Experience with human resources (hiring, onboarding, supporting staff & management)
• Experience with supporting a Board (union or non-profit)
• Experience operating and supporting others with software tools (Google Suites, Powerbase, Hustle, Action Network, Quickbooks, etc)

Compensation: This position is based in Burlington, Vermont with occasional statewide travel. This is an in-person position, with flexibility for occasional remote work. The salary range is $76,000 – $90,000 a year depending on experience. This is a management position.
