Chief Financial Officer

A well-established community bank is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. This is a highly visible role with direct interaction with the Board and executive management, offering the opportunity to step into a long-term leadership position within a stable and relationship-driven organization.

The current CFO is planning for retirement within the next several years, creating an opportunity for either an experienced community bank CFO or a strong finance leader ready to take the next step into the role. Leadership is focused on finding the right long-term fit and is open to mentoring the right successor.

This is an in-house position. Remote arrangements will not be considered.

Responsibilities

Oversee the bank’s overall financial management and reporting functions
Manage the investment and bond portfolio
Prepare and present financial reporting to the Board of Directors and executive leadership
Partner closely with the President on strategic and operational initiatives
Oversee key areas tied to deposit operations and balance sheet management
Monitor financial performance, liquidity, interest rate risk, and related reporting
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and asset/liability management processes
Ensure regulatory compliance and sound financial controls
Serve as a strategic voice within the executive leadership team

Ideal Background

Community banking experience strongly preferred
Open to both current CFOs and high-level finance leaders ready to step into a CFO role
Strong understanding of bank financial reporting, investments, and balance sheet management
Experience working with Boards and executive leadership teams
Familiarity with deposit operations and related operational oversight
Collaborative leadership style with a long‑term mindset
Desire to be part of a community‑focused organization

Additional Notes

Preference for candidates local to the market, though relocation will be considered for the right individual
Compensation expected to fall in the $145,000–$185,000 range depending on experience
