Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position available in a healthcare facility located in a vibrant campus setting. This role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to work in a collaborative environment, with flexibility for holiday requests and contract durations ranging from 13 to 26 weeks.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Womens Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate. At least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery is required. Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
• Patient Diagnoses: Labor and preterm labor cases.
• Clinical Experience: Circulating, OB-GYN procedures, post-operative and pre-operative care, scrub assist, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery.
• Special Procedures: Administration of blood and blood products, cardioversion/defibrillation, use of cooling/warming blankets, epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps, wound vac, and management of medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate.
• Special Equipment & Responsibilities: Attends all deliveries, high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, and nursery transitions. Experience with high-risk obstetrics, postpartum, and labor triage essential.
• Float: Flexibility to float to Post-Partum and possibly Labor & Delivery at other facilities.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be available to work three of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). All scheduling requests and time off must be communicated upfront during application submission.
